Learn how to make Healthy Whole Wheat Pizza at home that gets ready in an hour. I have shown how I made two different types of pizza with the same pizza dough, one with chicken and other a plain cheese pizza.
Pizza crust made with whole-wheat flour is healthier than regular white flour crust, as it provides whole grains and fiber and is digested more slowly than refined grains. It’s nutty, earthy, and slightly sweet. Those who feel heavy after having regular pizza wont feel that way with whole wheat pizza. Its great for all those calorie watchers too.

Whole Wheat Chicken Pizza
Ingredients
For Pizza Dough
- 3/4 Cup | 180gm Lukewarm Water
- 2 Teaspoon Sugar
- 1 Teaspoon | 3g instant yeast
- 1 1/2 Tablespoon Extra Virgin Olive oil
- 2 1/4 Cup | 248g Whole Wheat flour/Atta
- 1 Teaspoon salt
For Chicken Topping
- 220gm Boneless Chicken Breast/Thighs, cubes
- Salt to taste
- 1 Teaspoon Lemon juice
- 1 Teaspoon Ginger Garlic paste
- 2 Tbsp Thick Yogurt
- 1/2 Tsp Cumin Powder
- 1 Tsp Coriander powder
- 1/2 Tsp Paprika
- 1/2 Tsp Black Pepper
Toppings
- 3 Tablespoon Pizza Sauce
- 1 Cup | 113gm Mozzarella cheese shredded
- Chicken breast cubes, fried
- Bell Peppers & Onions, Cubed
- Dried basil/thyme/oregano, Red Chili flakes to garnish
- Extra virgin Olive oil
Instructions
- For Accurate results, always weigh all your ingredients the flour and water specially. Measuring cups we tend to put more flour than required resulting in a dense texture. A weighing scale does not cost much and it will help save your valuable time by getting every recipe right at the very first attempt.
- Mix Sugar with Lukewarm water till it dissolves. Add instant Yeast. Mix. If using Dry Active Yeast then let it rest for 10 mins till it gets Frothy at the Top. But for Instant Yeast it can be added without any resting.
- Add Olive oil. Weigh the whole wheat flour, i used Chakki Fresh Atta. Add half of it to the bowl having yeast water. Add salt and mix with a spatula. Add remaining flour bit by bit and Knead for 5-10 mins.
- Avoid adding too much extra flour during kneading. The Dough needs to be still bit sticky for a Soft Pizza Crust. Knead till it gets Smooth.
- Grease with Olive oil the dough and the bowl. Cover Airtight and let it rest till it gets doubled. Keep in a warm place like inside your oven. Mine got doubled in 40 mins. If Using Dry active Yeast the ones with bigger granules, it will take at least 1 to 1 & half hour to double.
- Once Doubled, Punch the air out and Roll into a smooth ball again. Divide into 2 parts.
- Roll out either using your hands or a rolling pin on a floured surface or parchment paper.
- Poke few holes with a fork to avoid puffing up during baking. Spread Pizza Sauce and Mozzarella Cheese. Place the fried chicken pieces and bell peppers onions. Put some more Mozzarella Cheese on top.
- Bake @230C in a preheated Oven for 10-11 Mins. Drizzle with Olive oil and Garnish with Dried Oregano and Basil or Red Chili Flakes. Serve Hot.

Notes
Use Good quality Mozzarella Cheese. I used Puck shredded Mozzarella Cheese. Also the Tomato Pizza sauce matters a lot. I used American Garden Classic Pizza Sauce.
