Easy Simple Cheese Pizza Recipe made using one Bowl, no stand mixer involves minimal kneading. A Delicious Chewy Crust layered with Pizza sauce topped with Gooey melted Cheese, this homemade pizza recipe is simply one of the best pizza recipes.

Similar to Margherita Pizza or Pizza Margherita where Fresh Mozzarella is used along with Fresh Basil Leaves and extra Virgin Olive Oil, this is a Classic Cheese Pizza recipe made with Shredded Mozzarella Cheese which is easily available.

Cheese Pizza

Ingredients

  • 3/4 Cup | 180gm Lukewarm Water
  • 2 Teaspoon Sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon | 3gm Instant/Active Dry Yeast ( I used Instant)
  • 2 Cups | 250gm All purpose Flour/ Maida (plus extra few Tablespoon during kneading)
  • 1 Tsp Salt
  • 1 Tbsp Olive oil

Toppings:

  • Olive oil to drizzle
  • Pizza Marinara Sauce ( 3 Tbsp for a 9 inch pizza)
  • 113gm | 1 Cup Mozzarella cheese shredded
  • Dried or Fresh Basil & Oregano to garnish

Instructions

  • Weigh all the Ingredients for perfect results. Many times we end up using either too much or less if we measure with a measuring cup so its always best if we weigh everything in grams.
  • Add sugar and yeast to lukewarm water. Ensure that the Water is not too hot, just warm. Hot Boiling Water may kill the yeast. Mix till the sugar dissolves and Let it rest for 10-15 Mins. After it gets frothy on top, it ensures that the yeast is activated.
Please note that i used instant yeast and instant yeast does not need to be activated like Dry Active Yeast but still this step will ensure that you have a active Yeast. Many times Yeast tends to go bad if not stored properly or if it is old.
  • Transfer the Yeast mixture into a Big Mixing Bowl. Add Half of the Flour, Salt and Olive Oil. Mix with a Spatula or a spoon.
  • Add Rest of the flour bit by bit mixing in between. Knead for 5-10 Minutes. Note that the Dough will be very sticky and you can add some flour while kneading but do not use too much as the dough needs to be very soft. Use as little flour as possible. The Dough gets less sticky with time.
  • Once the dough is smooth, tuck it backwards into a round smooth ball.
  • Apply Olive Oil onto the Mixing bowl and on the Dough. Cover airtight and let the dough rest till doubles in size. It took 30-35 minutes for me as i used instant yeast. I kept it in a preheated Oven as it is winter and weather is cool.
If you are using Dry Active Yeast the bigger granules then it will take atleast 1 – 11/2 Hour for the Dough to get doubled.
  • Once Doubled, punch out the air from the dough and make a smooth ball. Divide the dough into parts.
  • Tuck the dough backwards and make a smooth ball without removing the air from it. Place it on a Floured Pizza Pan.
  • I used a 10 Inch Pizza Pan. Spread with your fingers. Transfer the dough to your knuckles and using your knuckles and fingers stretch the dough out. This takes bit of a practice and it might get torn. You can join it again and stretch it out. If this step gets too difficult for you then use a rolling pin to stretch it evenly.
  • Press out a small border so that the Cheese stays inside after it melts during baking. Poke a few holes using a fork to prevent over rising and promotes even cooking.
  • Layer with the Pizza Sauce. Top with Shredded Mozzarella Cheese.
  • Drizzle Olive oil in the edges and some on the crust.
  • BAKE @230C in a preheated Oven for 10-12 MINS Or Till the Cheese starts browning.
  • Transfer to a Chopping board, Garnish with dried or fresh Basil & Oregano, drizzle olive oil and Slice.
  • Serve them hot with your favorite Ketchup.
