Chicken Nuggets McDonald’s Style
Ingredients
- 250g Boneless chicken, minced
- 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1/2 Teaspoon Onion powder
- 1/4 Teaspoon White Pepper
- 2 Tablespoon All Purpose Flour
Dry Mix
- 1/2 Cup All Purpose Flour
- Pinch of Salt
- Ice Water for Coating
Tempura Batter
- 1/4 Cup All Purpose Flour
- 1/4 Cup Cornstarch
- 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
- 1/4 Teaspoon Garlic powder
- 1/4 Teaspoon Onion powder
- 1/4 Teaspoon White pepper powder
- 1/2 Teaspoon Baking powder
- 1/4 Teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1 Egg, beaten
- 6 Tablespoon Chilled Water
Instructions
- Marinate Boneless Chicken with Salt, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, White Pepper and All Purpose Flour. Mix Well. Shape into Nuggets. Place them on a parchment paper lined tray. Freeze them for an hour or overnight.
- Make Tempura Batter by mixing All Purpose Flour, Cornstarch, Salt, spices, Baking Powder, Soda, Egg and Ice Cold Water. Make a thin smooth batter with no lumps.
- Coat the frozen nuggets in ice cold water then coat with all purpose flour.
- Dip the flour coated nuggets in the Tempura Batter. Shake any Excess and Deep Fry in Vegetable Oil till Golden Brown. Do not Overcrowd, fry in small batches.
- Once Golden brown on both sides, takes only few minutes, drain them on a cooling rack and serve hot with your favorite Ketchup.
