Chicken Masala is a flavorful Indian chicken curry where succulent chicken pieces are cooked in a thick, spicy, onion-tomato-based gravy.

Chicken Masala
Ingredients
- 500g chicken curry cut
- 3 Tablespoon Oil, 1 Tablespoon Ghee
- Bay leaf, whole spices
- 3 medium sized onions, finely chopped
- 2 Teaspoons Ginger Garlic paste
- 1/2 Teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 1/2 Teaspoon Cumin powder
- 1 Teaspoon Coriander
- 1 Teaspoon Red Chili Powder
- 1/2 Teaspoon Black pepper
- 1 Tablespoon Kashmiri Chili
- 1 Teaspoon Chicken Masala
- 1 Big Tomato,1/2 Cup finely chopped
- 1/2 Cup Warm water, to cook
- 2 Tbsp whisked Yogurt
- 1/2 teaspoon Garam masala
- Chopped Coriander leaves
- Green chilies, slit
Instructions
- Saute Whole Spices Cardamom, Cloves, Bay Leaf and Cinnamon in Oil & Ghee for a few seconds. Add finely chopped Onions and saute till golden.
- Add Ginger Garlic paste 7 a splash of Water to avoid onions burning. Add the spices. Add chopped Tomatoes and cover cook for 5-8 mins or till Tomatoes Soften.
- Once Tomatoes Soften, add the Chicken pieces and fry on High Heat for 5 mins Stirring continuously.
- Add warm water and Cover cook on Low Heat for 20 mins or till chicken is completely cooked stirring in between.
- Once Chicken is cooked, switch off heat and add whisked yogurt and Garam Masala. Switch on Heat and garnish with Green Chilies and chopped coriander leaves. Cook for 5 mins on Low Heat.Β
